BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER HEALTHCARE – CARIBBEAN
We are systematically achieving our ambitious growth objectives and are actively and enthusiastically working to further strengthen the strategic market position of the Healthcare segment within the Necarex Business Unit. These activities involve the sale of medical, healthcare, and laboratory supplies and services to hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and other healthcare institutions in Suriname and the (former) Dutch Antilles. In addition to Healthcare, we are also active in the Electrical Engineering, Construction/Infrastructure, and Industrial segments within this region. We are looking to further strengthen our team with a professional:
WHAT WE OFFER
- a challenging and interesting international export sales position on full time basis with an interesting combination of sales and procurement in a market with many commercial opportunities.
- You are responsible for expanding the Healthcare segment in the Caribbean. In this business, just as in our other market segments, we aim to become the market leader and to serve and unburden local (smaller) healthcare institutions across the full spectrum. You are responsible for both sales to healthcare institutions (account management) and purchasing (principal management and sourcing). You are the commercial linchpin who links customer needs to the supply chain and vice versa. You will travel for several weeks on average 2-3 times a year for customer visits. To expand the supply chain, you will actively source and build supplier relationships and (strategic) partnerships. You will also attend international trade fairs.

As Business Development Manager, you will actively build the next phase of development for the Healthcare business, where we aim for significant growth. WHAT WE EXPECT FROM OUR NEW COLLEAGUE
- commercial drive, independence, and integrity distinguish you as a professional and define us as an organization. Relationship management and cultural adaptability come naturally to you, and the continuous pursuit of commercial opportunities is part of your DNA.
- you have experience with medical and/or healthcare products from a sales and/or procurement perspective, and your medical affinity enables you to quickly get to the heart of matters and achieve results on both the commercial and purchasing sides. A broad knowledge of the Healthcare industry and an extensive network of suppliers are therefore considered strong assets.
- you are an effective relationship builder within the institutional market and a trusted, professional discussion partner at all levels of the decision-making unit (DMU).
- you are more of a generalist than a specialist, but you are able to map out specialized medical client needs. You think in terms of solutions, partnerships, and the long term. The solutions you choose add significant value for our clients.
- you feel at home in a very international, dynamic and professional trading environment, where sales and procurement merge seamlessly into viable technical and commercial solutions. You are prepared to travel.
- you have an education at University or Bachelor level (minimum HBO level) and have professional fluency in both Dutch and English. Without these language skills you do not qualify for this position.
- despite your high degree of independence, you enjoy working collaboratively in a team within a dynamic, professional, international trading environment. As a Business Development Manager, you also understand that not all tasks are strategic in nature, and that you simply take a hands-on approach to whatever is necessary for further growth. In this role, you collaborate closely with the internal sales team as a ‘working foreman’.
